Dogs With Skin Or Digestive Problems Require Enzyme Support

Your dog’s diet can have a great impact on a variety of factors in his health. A dog that is not receiving adequate nutrition from his diet can be prone to gas, flatulence, lack of energy and skin problems.

The dog’s coat may become dull and, if he is a working dog, his performance may be affected. This is due, in great part to a variance that many dog owners have imposed on dogs when they domesticated them. In essence, it is a nutritional deficiency that, though unintentional, can lead to health and digestive issues.

In many cases, digestive enzymes for dogs can correct or substantially reduce the problems. Enzymes are substances found in the body that have the ability to induce chemical reactions or accelerate these processes. Enzymes are broken down into two parts, one is a protein called apoenzyme and the other is a non-protein. The non-protein can either be a coenzyme or cofactor.

Every cell in every plant and animal contains enzymes. They regulate biochemical reactions that aid the system and sustain life. When the delicate balance of the body’s digestive system is upset, various undesirable reactions can result.

Enzymes can bring balance, but if they are not present naturally in the diet then supplements must be introduced. A supplement can reduce or even eliminate the undesirable side effects of an improper diet in a dog. Gas and flatulence, skin problems and lack of energy can be turned around and the dog’s coat will be shinier.

Dog digestive problems are common even in dogs whose owners feed them top of the line dog food. The problem stems from the processed diets that most domestic dogs are provided. A dog is not equipped to digest this type of diet because kibble lacks the necessary dog digestive enzymes his body needs.

Wild canines, such as wolves, exist on a raw diet. In their natural environment, wolves will kill their prey and consume the organs first. The organs contain the vitamins and nutrients that the wolf needs and it is these vitamins and nutrients that boost their system, aiding in digestion.

A domesticated dog does not have access to animal organs from prey or a raw diet, so their body requires an enzyme supplement for proper digestion and a healthy system. A dog is naturally designed to consume raw prey. However, with domestication, man has imposed a diet of kibble which is more convenient and cost effective, but the dog is paying a heavy price because his diet is nutritionally lacking.

In such cases, enzymes for dogs are necessary to provide what the dog’s diet is lacking. This is true for dogs of all ages and especially important for senior dogs. However, when a dog is started on digestive enzymes as a young dog, it will give greater assurance to the owner that the dog will be healthier as it ages.

It’s never too late to start providing your best friend with an enzyme supplement for dogs.

Carbs: why you need them to burn fat

So much negativity has been placed on carbs. Back in the 80’s it was fat as the culprit. Today it’s carbs. Now there is talk that we are probably getting too much protein. It won’t be long before vitamins and minerals get the bad rap for weight gain. But let me share something about carbs with you….you need them in order to switch your metabolism from fat storing mode to fat burning mode.

Carbohydrate metabolism I don’t care what carb you eat whether it’s a “good” or “bad” it breaks down to the same energy source: glucose. All carbs break down to this sugar. The difference in carbs is not whether they are bad or good but how the respond to blood sugar release. When your digestive system breaks down carbs into glucose, glucose takes a trip into your bloodstream increasing your body’s blood sugar levels. That blood sugar needs to be transported into different cells for metabolism. Depending on how much sugar is in the blood stream some will be used for energy in cells and some will get deposited in fat cells. This is where the heroes of metabolism come in. The pancreas releases insulin to the rescue. Insulin is going to transport the glucose from the bloodstream to the cells.

Fast carbs vs. slow carbs We’re going to change the terminology a bit here. What use to be known as “bad” carbs are now going to be known as fast carbs. Why? Because that is what they do. They break down into glucose very fast and stimulate insulin really fast into the bloodstream. The same is true about “good” carbs. We’ll now refer to them as slow carbs. Why? For reasons opposite fast carbs.

The key to burn body fat The truth is that you can burn body fat with both types of carbs. But here you must combine them with protein. What is a protein? It’s like my mentor Robert Ferguson says: anything that use to fly, walk, or swim. To make a fat loss meal you must combine a protein to either carb. Meaning, you can have a fast carb as long as you combine it with a protein. Take for example a meatball sub with no cheese. You have a fast carb in the white bread and to a lesser extent the marinara sauce and you have your protein in the meatballs. That is a fat loss meal. Another example, is to take sushi where you have a fast carb in the form of white rice and you have protein in the form of some fish combined with it.

Word of caution Remember to be aware of calories. Just because you are combining fast carbs with proteins doesn’t mean that they are devoid of calories. It’s still fairly easy to eat 600 calories within one sitting of combining fast carbs and slow carbs with proteins. However, this is a convenient and easy way to enjoy carbs again. There is absolutely no need to eliminate them from your diet. Combine fast carbs with slow carbs and proteins. Carbs are good for you and you need them to burn fat. But how much of them should I eat? How often? When? Well, those are other questions that are off topic and you’re going to have to read my other articles and get my book.

Colon Cleansing for Health

The colon is responsible for absorbing the vitamins, nutrients, and water from the things we consume. Then, it’s in charge of eliminating the waste items from the body. However, all the processed foods that most people are accustomed to eating today causes our waste to be thick and pasty. This waste sticks to our intestine walls and doesn’t eliminate properly. We then develop problems like constipation, irritable bowel or diarrhea. This is one of the main reasons a colon cleansing may be called for.

Xenical - A New Idea in Weight Loss Pills

Most weight loss pills work by suppressing the appetite in some way. This is often done by changing the chemicals in the brain to make the body feel full or reduce the positive feelings that come from eating. Xenical, on the other hand, is a weight loss option that has no effect on the brain. Instead, Xenical works in the digestive system.

In your digestive system there are enzymes, known as lipases, which help break down the fat that you eat so that your body can absorb it. Without lipases, fat would pass through the digestive tract and be expelled when you had a bowel movement. Xenical has an ingredient in it that bonds to some of the lipases in your body and keeps them from allowing the fat to be absorbed into your body. As a result, the fat is expelled when you have a bowel movement instead of being absorbed by your body and added to your already growing deposits of fat. Since some fat is necessary for healthy living, Xenical only blocks about one-third of the fat you consume from being absorbed into your body.

Xenical is highly effective at blocking the absorption of some fat. However, this alone is not sufficient for weight loss. Simply blocking the absorption of fat may keep you from gaining more weight, but it will not cause you to lose the weight you have already gained. This requires a reduced calorie diet and exercise, and adding Xenical to the equation can help you lose more weight.

Xenical, combined with a diet low in fat, is highly effective as a weight loss solution. In a clinical study that followed obese patients for over a year, researchers found that those who took Xenical along with a low fat diet lost twice as much weight as those who only dieted. Patients who have a body mass index of 30 or higher are good candidates for this medication. Also, those with lower body mass indexes who have other risk factors, such as hypertension, could benefit from adding Xenical to their weight loss plans. Other than changes to your bowel movements, which can sometimes be embarrassing, there are few risks or side effects known with the use of Xenical. Some vitamins from your food are not absorbed as well when you take Xenical, so you should take a vitamin supplement containing A, D, E and K whilst you are on this medication.

Cradle Cap: Manage It Well

If the cause of a disease is known then it becomes easy to cure it. That is why whenever any new disease breaks out, scientists zero in on finding out the real cause behind it. But they do not do so for all kind of diseases. Particularly, if it is a harmful one then time is not wasted on it. It is because of this the actual cause behind cradle cap is not found out yet; nor does it hamper the treatment of the disease.
